Overview: Lit2Go is an online library of K-12 literature available in three formats: Each Poems, articles, stories or novels can be downloaded as an audio mp3 file, viewed as a web page, or downloaded for printing as a PDF file. The the material can be listened to either online or away from the computer, with or without following the written text. The collection can be searched by title, author, keywords or reading level. Although restricted to literature that is available in the public domain, Lit2Go’s database is quite large, and it is growing. Site is added to on a regular basis.

Name: The Virtual Body          
Overview: It can be quite difficult to get a close-up look at a skeleton, a brain, or even the inner workings of the digestive tract. Students and others need worry no more, as this very fine interactive exhibit offers up dynamic images and cross-sections of these parts of the anatomy and many more. The site contains four sections, including "Brain", "Skeleton", "Heart", and "Digestive Tract". In the "Heart" area, visitors can learn about the individual parts of the heart, view an animated heart, and also take a narrated tour of the heart that will "keep your heart beating." Moving on, the "Skeleton" section features the "Bones Narrated" tour, which will take visitors on a guided tour of the skeleton and its functions. For those who like to keep things interactive, there is also the "Build a Skeleton" feature that will test their knowledge of the human skeleton. Additionally, the "Digestive Tract" area includes a test of organ organization and a trip through the duodenum and other parts of the digestive system. The site is also available in Spanish.

Overview: The mission of the International Children’s Digital Library is “to have every culture and language represented so that every child can know and appreciate the riches of children’s literature from the world community.” It’s a lofty goal indeed, and by looking over their website, visitors will find that they are well on their way to achieving this goal. So far, they have placed hundreds of books online, and visitors can click on “Read Books” to check out the fruits of their labors. Here they will find a selection of featured books, along with a drop- down menu that lets users look for books in dozens of languages. Of course, visitors can also click on a range of thematic listings, such as “real animal characters”, “picture books”, and “kid characters”. Visitors can also learn how they can contribute to the ongoing work of the Library, and they may also wish to sign up for a free account while they are here.

Name: Ancient Mesopotamia: This History, Our History          
Overview: The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago houses a world-renowned collection of artifacts from ancient Syria, Israel, Persia, Anatolia, Egypt, Nubia, and Mesopotamia. On this website, visitors can explore some of these artifacts up close while also learning more about the history of this important region. Visitors should first visit "Life in Mesopotamia" to learn more about the cultural importance of the area. Then, they can click on the "Learning Collection", here, visitors can zoom-in on artifacts selected by teachers in order to learn what these artifacts can tell us about ancient Mesopotamia. After browsing the learning collection, visitors should not miss the "Interactives." Here they can view additional artifacts as well as view video clips on various topics including a virtual archaeological dig and how these ancient artifacts are cared for and preserved. In addition, teaching materials are also provided. K-12 teachers can also earn graduate credit from an online course that is offered.
